Stained Glass Sugar Cookie Wreaths

A few years ago, I made Stained Glass Cookie Ornaments.  They were just lovely.

But since I’m me, I wondered if I could make the stained glass cookies a little more extra?

For this version, I cut my sugar cookies into circles and used mini Christmas cutouts for the centers.  Then I added my crushed candy and a royal icing wreath decoration.

Just stunning!

Stained Glass Sugar Cookie Wreaths

1 recipe Sugar Cookies

Crushed candy (preferably Jolly Ranchers or something similar)

Royal Icing

Make the sugar cookies to recipe instructions.  Cut out in circles, then cut out the center using a mini Christmas cookie cutter.  Bake to recipe instructions.

Remove from oven and sprinkle crushed candy in the center of each cookie.  Return to oven for 1-2 minutes or until the candy is melted.

Cool completely on wire racks.

To decorate, pipe a circle of white, followed by green dots.  Use a toothpick to swirl through the dots, creating a wreath effect.  Set aside to dry, then store in an airtight container.
