Ugly Sweater Gingerbread Men

This post first appeared on my other blog in 2013, but since I no longer maintain that one, I'm reposting some of my favorites here!

I have to confess, I wasn’t particularly looking forward to making this year’s Christmas cookies.

I was just uninspired.

That is, until I picked up the December copy of Taste of Home.

There, on the cover, just staring at me were their gingerbread people.  It was never mentioned in the article, but they were all wearing hideously ugly sweaters.

Boom.

I took mine a step further than the folks at Taste of Home and gave my little guys all dickeys to wear under their sweaters and some lovely Christmas comb overs.  I think Cousin Eddie would be proud.

Speaking of Cousin Eddie…did you spot him below sporting his ever-so-stylish white sweater & black dickey?  That there’s my pride ‘n joy.
