One of the best parts about decorating cakes for friends is the ideas people come up with! Things I would never have thought to create on my own.
Case in point: today’s cake. It is half softball half basketball PLUS half chocolate and half vanilla!
I ended up using a single layer of my favorite chocolate and vanilla cake recipes (stay tuned for what I did with the extra cake in the upcoming weeks). Then, I cut the single layer in half and stacked them (with a frosting layer, of course) to make two half-circles which I frosted with a white crumb coat and pressed together to create the impression of a single circle cake.
Then, I carefully frosted each half (chocolate was basketball and vanilla was softball). Then I piped a border across the seams and added a few sprinkles for a little bling!
