Today is Libations Part 2 for #HandCraftedEdibles and today
we’re bringing on the garnishes!
Now, today’s marinated blackberries aren’t really going to
preserve well for gifts (they’re best eaten right away), but they are marinated
in that yummy lemon vodka I shared a few weeks ago!
The marinated berries are delicious! They’re fresh and juicy and I love the pop of
lemon the infused vodka adds! These are
amazing straight out of the marinade and also for garnishing fancy lemonades
like Thyme Infused Lemonade. I also have a
brand new drink (that I’ve been hinting at) and that’s coming up a little later
this week, so don’t miss it!
If you’re looking for an edible garnish that preserves well
to give as a gift, I highly recommended these Bourbon Cherries (plus you ca use them as truffles!!), just don’t eat them all yourself!

Lemon Vodka Marinated Blackberries
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 sprig fresh basil, optional
½ cup lemon vodka
Place the berries into a clean cup or jar. Add enough vodka to submerge the
berries. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2
hours. Remove the berries and
enjoy. Save the remaining vodka for
another time.
This week, we're continuing our homemade libations - here's the first installment that kicked off the series, Libations, Part I - and here we are at Part II.
These look beautiful. I would happily add them to a cocktail. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT recipe, Amy. Thanks. I can just imagine these in a tasty holiday cocktail. I hope I can still get blackberries!
ReplyDeleteForget saving that Lemon Vodka for another day. Give me a glass of ice and some of those luscious blackberries for garnish and I will be all set!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like these might be a little dangerous...but boy do they look delicious! Great recipe Amy :)
