Disclosure: I received product samples from Quirk Books and
Casabella to create recipes for #HotSummerEats.
All recipes and opinions are my own.
Welcome to my last #HotSummerEats post!
After all of those delicious burgers, I thought we all
deserved a drink!
Today I made a (Slutty) Sex on the Beach.
So why trash up the drink’s name any more than it already is? Well friends, I took a lot of liberties when
making this drink, adding in all sorts of ingredient substitutions. It got a little slutty. But completely delicious. I foresee a lot of hot summer nights with
these drinks!
But if that’s not to your taste (or if you want something
non-alcoholic for the kids), look no further!
I’ve rounded up all of my favorite drink recipes (with the Slutty Sex on
the Beach recipe below.)
Watermelon Margarita | Roasted Blueberry Basil Margarita |
Whipped Strawberry Cokes | Dreamsicle Martini | Minty Watermelon Sangria |
Colorado Buffalo | Strawberry Margarita | Irish Cream Martini
Cucumber Melon Refresher | Berry Basil Iced Tea | Thyme Infused Lemonade | Lemon Thyme Iced Tea | Rosemary Iced Coffee | StrawberryJulius
Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino | S’mores Frappuccino | Mocha Chip Frappuccino | Golden Cream | Mississippi Mudslide
Now here is a bit more about the sponsor recipes used in today’s
recipe.
Quirk Books Summer
Cocktails
Oh, delicious summer cocktails! Not only is every single picture in the book
absolutely breathtaking, the drink recipes are equally amazing! I foresee a very delicious summer! You can see my full review on Goodreads.
Casabella Juicer
and Reamer
I am loving this juicer and reamer! It makes juicing an absolute breeze (even my
kids could use it!) I was able to get
every little bit of juice out of my oranges.
Plus, the juice is collected into a large cup with measurements etched
onto the side and a nice, pourable spout.
Slutty Sex on the Beach
Inspired by Summer Cocktails by Maria del Mar Sacasa
1 ½ oz whipped vodka
1 oz peach schnapps
½ oz rhubarb cordial (or crème de cassis)
2 oz freshly squeezed orange juice
½ oz maraschino cherry juice (or grenadine)
Ice, orange slices, and maraschino cherries, to serve
Place all ingredients in a shaker with a handful of
ice. Shake and pour into an ice filled
glass. Garnish with orange slices and
cherries.

I need to make a stop at the liquor store... very, very soon! This looks SO perfect for summer, yumm!!
ReplyDeleteAw, this reminds me of my college days. Clarification: Drinking this cocktail! :) (There was no beach within 1200 miles!)
ReplyDeleteYou do deserve a drink after all those great burgers! Have a great weekend Amy.
ReplyDeleteMy eyes! ;-) You did create a very beautiful cocktail. I'm regretting not signing up for this cocktail recipe book, but alas, I can't have alcohol for another 22 weeks so left my copy for someone who could put it to great use!
ReplyDeleteBahahaha I actually wondered how on earth a sex on the beach could get any more taboo sounding. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOMG That Slutty drink looks awesome!!! haha. I can't wait to try that, I'm definitely pinning this. And I've never heard of a Colorado Buffalo before. Sounds pretty good, however. I'm slightly lactose intolerant so I might need to limit the cream, but I'll be trying that one for sure. Great recipes!! If you get the chance I'd love it if you stopped by and linked this post up to my Thursty Thursday link up. It's perfect!! And I wish I knew about his linkup before hand. I would have linked up!! Cheers!! hopelesslyeverafter.blogspot.com
