Another of my 30x30 recipes
was Homemade Bagels. My absolute
favorite bagels (for breakfast or lunch) are everything bagels. But I was becoming more and more dissatisfied
with grocery store bagels and knew it was time to make my own.
I decided to make both
everything bagels and asiago bagels (because oh my gosh – have you had those at
Starbucks? Ah-mazing!)
I used this recipe from
Annie’s Eats exactly. Annie has a
beautiful photo tutorial of the whole process, so I’m going to send you over to
her blog for the recipe I will note,
however, that I found the everything bagel mixture to be far too salty. When I make these again, I plan to omit the
salt completely from the everything topping mix.
Overall these bagels were
absolutely amazing! Chewy on the inside
without being too dense and just fabulous.
Homemade bagels run circles around their grocery store counterparts AND
they freeze well!! So I can have bagels
anytime I want!
I love asiago anything! These bagels look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou MADE bagels?! Holy cow!! I want
ReplyDeleteYum, those Starbucks bagels are delicious, but it's definitely better to make them at home. I'll have to try that! Thanks for sharing at The Fun In Functional!
