My boys are intrigued by those
little plastic Easter Eggs, so I took some inspiration from Gluesticks, and
turned lunch into an Easter Egg hunt.
I filled the egg with lunch
items (I cut some of the food into flower shapes, since they boys loved the hearts
so much on Valentine’s Day). We had
cucumbers, cheese, Nutella sandwiches, grapes, yogurt covered raisins, and
Space Goldfish crackers (have you seen these things? They’re pretty much awesome.) I also had an extra dozen eggs filled with
more sandwiches and lots of grapes (my boys love grapes).
The white eggs had a little
something special.
Since more seasonal March
weather (42 degrees & cloudy) had returned, I hid the eggs around our
dining room. Then I gave each boy a
basket and let them loose!
They took the baskets over to
a plastic table cloth I laid on the floor and we had an Easter Egg picnic.
They loved finding a surprise
in each egg!
The aftermath:
This is a fun activity to do
with kids and it is a fun break from the normal lunchtime routine. I think we’ll be having a few more egg hunts
before (and maybe after) Easter!
This is such a cute idea! Bet they loved it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome idea! :) Love it.
ReplyDeleteToo much fun! I love how you filled them all with different things instead of just candy!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best idea EVER!!! So cute. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to appreciate things like this...next Easter for sure!
